Education is a big part of Nick and T&N’s goals, and by helping to educate both new and old contractors with best practices, we better the industry and can move to achieve that goal. May 2023 – T&N had added new specialty paving equipment with advanced paving technology. Our Carlson CP100 Paver features advanced sonic controls, with the precise accuracy of sonic slope and grade controls. This allows for some of the best paving ever by accurately monitoring systems and making adjustments automatically in a split second. Very few others invest in this type of advanced technology as we have.

January 2020: Nick Howell has been appointed to the Pavement Preservation Committee with the Utah Asphalt Pavement Association. The Pavement Preservation Committee helps with specifications and development of standards within this important segment of the industry.

Nick Howell becomes 2008 President of the National Pavement Contractors Association (NPCA). Nick Howell of T&N Asphalt Services in Salt Lake City has become the new 2008 President of The National Pavement Contarctors Association. The NPCA is a national association designed to better the pavement industry, and link consumers with quality contarctors. Annual NPCA meetings and seminars are held each year in conjunction with the National Pavement Expo East and West shows.

Nick Howell, T&N Asphalt Services, and Robert Kordus, Asphalt Contractors Inc., are the newest members of the Pavement Magazines Advisory Board.
Howell is president of T & N Asphalt Services, a Salt Lake City firm entering its 10th year in business. T&N began as a striping contractor but moved into asphalt maintenance “because the demand was huge,” Howell says.
T&N offers sealcoating, cracksealing, and patching in addition to striping.
The Pavement Advisory Board functions as a sounding board and informal consultant to Pavement magazine and the industry’s two trade shows, National Pavement Expo and National Pavement Expo West.
